The hardened steel ball peen made shaping a copper cuff much easier than my old worn-out hammer, and swapping to the nylon side took seconds to avoid marring the surface.

The steel ball peen head sinks domes exactly like the dapping guide describes, and the flat end spreads wire edges cleanly without marring. Swapping in the nylon tip for softer metals takes about ten seconds. I’ve already used it on three pendants and a pair of earrings.

I was pleasantly surprised by how well the interchangeable nylon tip works for flattening wire without marring it. The steel ball peen made quick work of raising a small form in copper sheet, too. This dual-head design has already paid for itself in versatility.
