A bench pin is a consumable — it is supposed to collect the saw cuts and file marks so the work does not, and eventually it needs replacing. This 4″ × 2″ solid wood pin fits standard bench-anvil brackets and gives sawing, filing and piercing a fresh, firm support.

Out of the packet it is a blank slate: cut in a notch or taper to match the way you hold your work, and let it wear in. When it is more scar than surface, fit another and carry on.

  • Replacement wooden bench pin, 4″ × 2″
  • Supports work for sawing, filing and piercing
  • Solid wood — kind to saw blades
  • Re-shape to suit your work
  • Fits standard bench-anvil brackets

Been sawing on this for a few weeks now and the 2 inch width gives me plenty of room to brace a bezel without my blade wandering. Solid wood, no splitting yet, and the file marks are landing on the pin instead of my pieces like they should. Cheap enough that I'll just grab another when this one's ch

The wood is solid and dense, no soft spots, so my saw blade doesn't wander like it did on the cheap pine one I had before. Fits the bracket on my bench anvil with no wiggle. Four inches of length gives me plenty of room to file against the edge without knuckling the vise.

I’d been putting off replacing my old pin because I wasn’t sure a standard one would fit my bracket, but this one slid right in with no wobble. The wood is solid and takes the file marks without splintering, which is exactly what you want from a consumable. Just wish it came in a two-pack, but for t
