Long, narrow blanks are awkward to cut straight by hand; this set punches them instead. Three stripe punches — 9.51 × 57.56 mm, 9.51 × 54.36 mm and 9.51 × 51.16 mm — shear elongated blanks from soft sheet for tags, inlay strips and repeated jewellery components, each one true and identical to the last.
The die block is hardened high-carbon tool steel and weighs a reassuring 2.0 kg — mass that keeps the tool planted as you strike. The punches are bevelled for striking; drive them with a nylon mallet, use cutting fluid, and keep to non-ferrous sheet of 18 gauge (1.02 mm) or under.
