One block, two working faces. The steel side is a 97 mm square anvil for stamping blanks, flattening wire, forming and riveting — flat, hard and dependable under the hammer. Flip it over and the rubber side takes the delicate jobs, cushioning work that a bare steel face would mark.

The dense rubber base doubles as shock absorption, damping vibration and taking the ring out of hammer work — something your workbench and your neighbours will both notice. At 1.9 kg the block sits firmly where you put it and stays there through a full stamping run.

The rubber base actually stays put on my workbench, which I didn't expect from something this heavy. I've been using it mostly for riveting small copper pieces and the 97 mm steel face gives me plenty of room without the whole block sliding around.
