The four punches and their 76 mm square die block are machined from tempered carbon tool steel. Anneal your metal first, keep to non-ferrous sheet of 18 gauge (1.02 mm) or thinner, and use a cutting lubricant — the reward is clean cuts and a long service life from the tool.
