Forming Stake No 2 — 9 Inch Double-Ended Synclastic & Anticlastic, Polished Hardened Steel

A double-ended stake for raising holloware and working compound curves in sheet. The No. 2 profile carries a graduated series of synclastic (concave) and anticlastic (convex) curves, so a piece can move from gentle dishing to saddle forms without a tool change. The central hexagonal block seats securely in a vice or stake holder and stays put under the hammer.

Machined from hardened steel at a full 9 inches, it resists deformation through sustained forming work. Both working ends are brought to a high polish, so the stake meets precious metal cleanly and leaves no tool marks to planish out later. Keep the faces bright — the finish of the stake becomes the finish of your work.
