Turn bench scrap back into working stock. Melt down offcuts, pour into this mould, and you have rod ready for drawing or bar ready for the rolling mill — one pour, and the metal is back in circulation rather than sitting in the scrap pot. Gold, silver and other non-ferrous metals all cast well in it, which suits small-scale refiners as much as bench jewellers.

The mould is solid cast iron, whose thermal mass draws heat evenly for consistent pours. One face is machined with four parallel grooves for wire and rod stock; turn it over and there are four rectangular cavities in assorted sizes for bars. A short, red-painted handle makes positioning the mould less awkward.

  • Solid cast iron construction provides high thermal mass for consistent, even pours.
  • Double-sided design offers cavities for both rod and bar ingots in a single tool.
  • One face is machined with four parallel grooves for casting wire and rod stock.
  • The reverse face features four rectangular cavities in assorted sizes for bar stock.
  • Fitted with a short, red-painted handle for easier positioning and handling of the mould.

Who it's for

A workshop essential for UK bench jewellers, silversmiths, and goldsmiths who regularly recycle precious metal scrap. Also suited for small-scale refiners and casters needing to produce their own bar and rod stock from gold, silver, and other non-ferrous metals.

Julian W. ★★★★★

The double-sided design is a real time-saver; I can cast a rod on one side and a flat bar on the other without switching tools. The cast iron holds the heat beautifully, giving a clean pour every time with my scrap gold.

Sebastian Y. ★★★★★

I’ve been using this mould to recycle silver scrap, and the grooved cavities release the bars without any sticking. The cast iron holds heat perfectly, so the metal flows into every corner of the rod and bar slots.

Grace ★★★★★

The pour came out clean on both sides, and the rod groove is deep enough that my silver bar didn't stick or warp. I melted down a handful of offcuts and had usable stock in under ten minutes, which is exactly what I needed for the rolling mill.
