Chasing & Planishing Hammer, German Style — 32mm Bow Face, Ball Peen, Wooden Handle

This 32mm German-style chasing hammer with a 32mm bow face is engineered for efficient metal shaping and texturing.

What it does

The broad, slightly convex 32mm bow face delivers even strikes for smooth planishing and rapid texturing across larger metal surfaces. Its corresponding ball peen is ideal for forming domed shapes and applying decorative peened finishes. The polished steel head is securely fitted to a turned hardwood handle, offering a comfortable, balanced grip for controlled metalwork.

How to use it

• Prepare your metal on a suitable chasing bench pin or forming block.
• Use smooth, consistent hammer blows to shape or texture the metal.
• Wipe clean after use and store in a dry place.

Who it's for

This tool is essential for professional UK silversmiths, jewellers, and coppersmiths undertaking repoussé and chasing on medium to large pieces. It significantly speeds up planishing compared to smaller hammers, making it ideal for crafting bowls, large pendants, or decorative panels.
